Titz'n Glitz Halifax

http://www.titznglitz.com/index.htm
Titz'n Glitz Halifax raises funds for a project that was initiated in 2000 called
Halifax On The Front Line (breast cancer fund).

Money raised through Titz'n Glitz feeds this fund which provides short term financial assistance to Nova Scotia men and women with breast cancer who are in financial need.
Funds provided by Titz'n Glitz are distributed with the help of hospitals and social work departments across the province, to aid breast cancer survivors in financial need. Often, some of the most stressful realities are of a financial nature, including incidental costs. Women were missing chemo treatments because they couldn't afford a babysitter.

In cooperation with parents and community leaders, X-Project volunteers help children with school work to motivate them to reach higher academic achievements. X-Project creates leadership opportunities and promotes leadership skills for the youth in the community.

X-Project exposes the young people of these communities & their tutors to educational, recreational and social learning experiences. There is a proverb that says, "well done is better than well said". This is a philosophy which helped spawn X-Project and provides nourishment for the group today.

United Way of Halifax Region works with a volunteer board of directors to develop the vision for the future, with community leaders to raise money that is distributed every year to a range of not-for-profit organizations, and with community volunteers who allocate the funds to ensure money is invested wisely to make a difference.
